CST has its roots in osteopathy and is a holistic body treatment. It is very gentle and aims to relax the body so that it can find its way back to optimum health. We all understand that if our bodies and minds are under stress then they do not work as efficiently. Health issues can occur as stress takes over. CST offers the body and mind a chance to find health through relaxing the whole system. This can work on many levels during a treatment and is often felt by patients as the body physically and mentally relaxing into a deep sense of spaciousness.
The treatment involves a light contact, mainly around the head (cranium) and contacts along the spine, down to the base (sacrum). You remain fully clothed and generally lying on your back. CST is used to treat many ailments and conditions, and can be especially effective for things such as; tinnitus, vertigo, inner ear conditions, ibs, migraines, anxiety, insomnia, hormonal problems including fertility. It can also be very beneficial for trauma, by helping the body to let go of ingrained traumatic holding patterns. CST can be used to treat conditions but can also be used as part of a regular self care plan. It is extremely restorative and is very beneficial for the Central Nervous System.
Your first CST treatment will start with a thorough consultation so that we can chat about what has brought you to find CST. I offer a safe and confidential space to talk openly.
Mums and Babies
I treat lots of babies using CST. The birth process can often be a tricky start to the world for mum and baby. CST can be very beneficial for any birth trauma that has arisen as it can allow baby to relax from any birth shock that may still be present. It can be particularly helpful when the birth has been assisted by ventouse, forceps etc. It can also help with colic, digestive issues, sleep, teething. I will often work on Mum and baby during a session as you are both deeply interlinked through pregnancy and birth.
